From The Estate is a collaborative project (musician Jim Ghedi and photographer Laura Merrill) comprising field recordings and photographs guiding the viewer through an exploration of green spaces within four council and social estates in Sheffield: Gleadless Valley, Herdings Park, Jordanthorpe and Stannington.
Jim Ghedi’s field recordings provide audio narratives to each area whilst Laura Merrill’s photographs illustrate nature and city in proximity to each other.

Based in Sheffield, Sensoria is the UK’s festival of film, music and digital delivering innovative and engaging events including live music, film screenings, exhibitions, installations and SensoriaPro Industry Day. We have welcomed many artists including Richard Hawley, Jarvis Cocker, Laurie Anderson, Jlin, British Sea Power and Nitin Sawhney.
Sensoria takes over the city’s venues and public spaces. Previously this has included Sheffield Cathedral, a swimming pool, hairdressers, law courts, a 1960s hotel ballroom, South Street amphitheatre and guerrilla-style projections around the city.
