Fergus Carmichael

Using video, sculpture, sound and installation, Fergus Carmichael explores examples of human interaction with tradition, music and the Burkean sublime as vessels for invoking collective emotion within societies. Through an accumulation of seemingly dissonant case-studies, his work investigates how communities and individuals seek to interact with spaces that inhabit sublime Otherness and what role these narratives play in current environmental and political climates.
